Prerequisites

To view content of documents, you must have the View content of document permission for the Documents parameter. For more information about permissions and parameters, see Role management.
View relevant document information for all items in your Inbox, Sent, and Outbox.
  1. To view the information of a document, click the document row in the Documents table.
The Document info panel opens and displays the following information about the document:
    • Basic info: Information such as sender, receiver, internal document type, partner group, reference number, processing stage, and document ID. For dispatch advices, orders, and invoices, quantity and net amount are also displayed.
    • Activity log: The activity log is a communication log related to a document. It shows the event name, date and time, and event status. For failed transactions, you can see the error information and the reason for the failure. Click Show details on events such as COMSEND, COMRECEIVE, and SUBPROCESSING to see the event logs from Eurex-c and EDX backend systems.
    • Acknowledgements: Displays the acknowledgment history of the document. Click the entry to see the acknowledgment sent.
    • Linked documents: Displays list of documents linked to the selected document. Click the document ID to go to the document. New document is a document reprocessed from the selected document. Old document is the document from which the selected document is reprocessed.
    • Reprocess/Resend events: Displays reprocess or resend status history of a document.
  2. To view the content of the document, click Show document.
For documents with more than 20KB in size, EDX displays a confirmation message "This document is large and might take time to render. This will open in a new tab. Do you want to open it?" Click Proceed to open the document in a new browser tab. You can keep using EDX while the document loads in the new tab.
The document opens in the Form view. You can switch between the following views:
    • Source: The document as it was received from a client.
    • Form: The document as it was stored in EDX.

You can also view error details of failed outbound transactions in the form view.

    • Target: The document as it was sent to a client.

Inbound and outbound documents of ecommerce services such as Shopify are displayed in JSON format in source and target views.

If a file contains more than 100 000 characters, the messages The document is too large and Nothing to show are displayed. Also, you can see the Nothing to show message when the document is incomplete. Wait until the document is received, and click Refresh to see the document's content.

If you open a document while the EDX backend system is enveloping the document, EDX hides some segments of X12 and EDIFACT data and displays the remaining parts.

      • For X12 files: EDX hides ISA, GS, GE, and IEA segments from the business document and all views.
      • For EDIFACT: EDX hides UNA, UNB, and UNZ segments from the business document and all views.
  3. In the Form view, you can view the source, print the document, or switch the document view by applying one of the templates provided for your organization.
  4. To add line breaks to a source or target document, do one of the following:
    • Choose Line break and type the required sequence of characters.
    • Choose Character count and enter the number of characters after which a line should break.
  5. To download the resulting file, click Download.
