Reprocessing documents

Process inbound or outbound EDI documents again if a communication failure happens during the initial processing of the documents.

Prerequisites

You must have the Reprocess document permission for the Documents parameter. For more information about permissions, see Role management.

About this task

Using the Reprocess option in EDX, you can start processing selected inbound or outbound EDI documents again from beginning to end. Reprocessing will create a new transaction in EDX and send a new file to the target system.

Reprocess option is available for:

  • The inbound and outbound business documents.
  • The inbound technical documents of ecommerce services, such as Shopify, that did not reach the back-end EDX system.

You can reprocess multiple documents with EDX, except for e-commerce documents, which require individual reprocessing.

Note: Reprocessing is a chargeable functionality. The cost of reprocessing documents depends on your contract with Rocket Software.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the EDX application and navigate to Documents.
  2. Select the documents you want to reprocess, click the vertical ellipsis button, and then click Reprocess.
    EDX checks the selected documents to identify those that can be reprocessed.
  3. In the Reprocess confirmation dialog, click OK to confirm that you want to reprocess the selected documents.
    A toast message appears with the reprocess status. On the documents table, Reprocess/Resend column displays the reprocess status of a document.

    You can keep using EDX while document reprocess is in progress.

    You can see the new document ID of a reprocessed document in the Document info panel under Linked documents.
